Keith Pinkelman . B.Arch University of Kansas, 2009

I am a native of Kansas City and a recent graduate of the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning class of 2009 with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. My experiences in college and in a number of architectural offices have allowed me the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and abroad. I have worked at studios in New York and Kansas City, and spent the summer of 2006 studying architecture in a traveling program to Berlin, Brussels, Prague, Strasburg and Paris. In the fall semester of 2007 I assistant taught a 2nd year design studio with Professor Stephen Grabow PH.D. I have proven myself as a leader in the numerous positions I have held with a critical eye for detail and technical problem solving.

As a designer I am interested in the architectural process and the way that representation has rapidly evolved in the last quarter century. History and theory are also important in my creative process with the approach that a critical understanding of what has come before you is the only way to improve and transcend the quality of what is to come. I have a good knowledge of both physical construction and digital computing which supports my versatile methodology to design. I am interested in the diversity of design and embrace any opportunity to work in various digital or analog mediums. Sorry that last line was geek talk for “I like to draw with pen and ink, pencil, watercolor or the computer if it allows me to stay fresh and creative.”
